Lake Norman Staycation

Looking for a Lake Norman staycation this summer? Well, in this post we’re switching things up a little bit! We’re featuring a guest post from The Trendy Peach! You’ll get to read about one of her latest travel guides about Lake Norman. If you’re not following her already we highly suggest you do! You can find her Instagram here. She’s a resident of the Lake Norman area and is always looking for new and fun ways to spend her time.

Have you been dreaming a little getaway? How about a getaway at the lake? I’ve got just the place for you!

Last weekend I went on a little girls trip (local for some of us) on Lake Norman. We had SO MUCH FUN! I am going to tell you all about where to stay, eat, and have fun!

We stayed at this beautiful condo on Lake Norman in Cornelius, NC. It sleeps 6, has 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The location is perfect. The condo has a beautiful patio overlooking the lake and is right next door to the pool.

When I stay somewhere, I so often lose sleep. I always lose sleep because I can’t get comfortable or because of noise. Well, that was not the case here! It was a quiet area and the beds were perfect! It was nice waking up the next morning feeling refreshed. We were able to wake up and throw on the SOFTEST robes provided by the condo and drink coffee (ok, maybe some mimosas too) while overlooking the lake. I think the robes and patio were definitely our favorite pieces of the condo!

Check out the condo here!

The first place we went to for dinner was Port City Club Restaurant. We were spoiled with all the food that kept coming out! The owner, Nick, cooked all of our food himself and it was AMAZING. The pictures shown are just a preview of what we had. We had about five plates of food per course. We tried the lobster Mac n cheese, fried zucchini chips, octopus, fried calamari, brie, buttermilk fried oyster salad, ribeye, grouper, scallops, shrimp, Italian noodles, coconut cake, and so much more! They gave us amazing wine pairings, too! We were beyond full by the time we left. Definitely worth the visit! Incredible food with incredible service!

On our second day, we went to King Canary Brewery in Mooresville, NC.

If you like farmhouse decor and beer, you will LOVE this place. The decor is so cute and the beer is so good! I love that you can get a flight in an adorable little pail. I felt like I was holding a grown-up Easter egg basket!

Something else that I loved about King Canary is that they bring in different food trucks. The one that came while we were there was Lobster Dogs. I ordered the regular lobster dog and BBQ chips on the side. It was so good! The girls I was with also really liked the stuffed avocado!

After filling up on Lobster and beer we took an Uber to Two Scoops Creamery also in Mooresville, NC. They have a few other locations too in Charlotte. The one in Mooresville has an attached eatery too though! We were lucky enough to get to try a taste from both sides.

Two Scoops Creamery has homemade ice cream with tons of amazing flavor options. I got the Cookie Monster (vanilla wafers, Oreos, and chocolate chips) and Blast Off (heath and caramel). My favorite is cookies by the sea though! Highly recommend if you go!

The other side is called Moyers Lakeside Eatery. They have lunch options and they have sweets treats! We tried their German pancakes. They are mouthwatering good!

For dinner, we went to a lakeside restaurant called Hello Sailor.

This place was too cute and the food was also amazing. We sat outside and watched the sunset over the lake. We got to try some crab for an appetizer and then picked our own meal. I ordered the petit bistro steak and fries. The steak was so tender and flavorful! I will definitely be going back there!

Saturday morning we kicked things in gear and went for a *tucking* hard workout at Pure Barre in Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC. We got our booties kicked!

The Home T was sweet enough to provide us with matching shirts. They say “I don’t sweat I sparkle.” They are so soft and comfortable.  I think I can live in mine!

After our pure barre class, we walked our *sparkly* selves next door to Clean Juice for a clean and healthy breakfast. Best shakes and avocado toast you could ask for!

That afternoon was spent on the boat! We were lucky enough to get to have Kristopher drive us, but there are several boat rental places along the lake!

We ended our Saturday with Boatyard Eats in Cornelius, NC and had a blast!

We were greeted with their signature drink, the Painkiller. It was delicious! My favorite thing we had for food there was their shrimp and avocado dip. It had a light sweet salsa mixed in with it and it was so good! Perfect light summer snack.

While eating and enjoying the night, we got to listen to live music by the Tim Morgan band. It was so much fun! We danced, sang, and ate all the food.

Boatyard Eats was definitely a fun and family-friendly nightlife place. There was indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for a fun night out with the family!

That next morning was time to pack up and head out. I am already wondering when we can go back though!

As always, I hope you enjoy. Let me know if you have suggestions for my next trip! Have a blessed day!
