North Carolina is home to so many museums and I want to post all the virtual tours available! Since we’re all currently stuck in quarantine and you’ve probably played enough board games, or finished your work for the day. Now, is a great time to check out some of the museums that offer virtual tours! So here are some virtual tours that you can go on to keep you occupied and are totally free.
Mint Museum
The Mint Museum is dedicated to collecting, conserving, exhibiting, inspiring, publishing and protecting important works of art and design from all over the global art community. The Mint Museum offers virtual tours of their Uptown location as well as their Randolph location. North Carolina Transportation Museum
The North Carolina Transportation Museum is a museum in Spencer, North Carolina. It is a collection of automobiles, aircraft, and railway vehicles. The museum is located at the former Southern Railway’s 1896-era and devotes much of its space to the state’s railroad history. The museum has the largest collection of rail relics in the Carolinas. Though they don’t necessarily offer a “virtual tour” they do have multiple Youtube videos that can be seen here. Also during this time, they are offering a virtual experience through multiple Facebook posts that can be seen here.
Hickory Museum of Art
Hickory Museum of Art is an art museum in Hickory, North Carolina that holds exhibitions, events, and public educational programs based on a permanent collection of 19th through 21st century American art. The museum also features a long-term exhibition of Southern contemporary folk art, showcasing the work of self-taught artists from around the region. To check out their virtual tour click here.

The Cincinnati Zoo offers Facebook Live videos each day at 3 pm EST. During this time they highlight one of their animals at the zoo. Click here to join the Facebook event.
