When you hear Smash Cakes, what do you think of? Now that I’ve had one from Smallcakes I think of it being one of the best desserts you can eat in all of Lake Norman.
Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery opened in Mooresville on June 1st and has become an immediate popular place to go for cupcakes! I’ve been there twice so far, and both times there was a constant flow of people in and out.
The first time I went, I ended up meeting Rachel Solomon, the owner of Smallcakes Mooresville. I ended up getting a Smash Cake and was lucky enough to have Rachel make it for me! What a Smash Cake is, is two scoops of Smallcakes homemade ice cream and one of their jumbo cupcakes. You can either get it in a large plastic cup or a collectible mason jar. I went for the mason jar. It starts with one scoop of ice cream (I went with their cookie monster flavor), followed by the bottom section of your cupcake, then another scoop of ice cream (Red Velvet), and lastly the top of your cupcake! For my cupcake, I picked the Hot Fudge Sundae!
The interior has plenty of different backdrops to take your perfect insta worthy photo! With plenty of seating inside and out, and it’s an ideal place to sit down and indulge in the variety of cupcakes they offer. They always have daily specials as well! Today, they had orange creamsicle and tequila sunrise!
They provide more than just cupcakes and ice cream too. They have macaroons and pupcakes! Pupcakes are carrot cake cupcakes topped with peanut butter cream cheese and a dog treat.
